Song of One
At the request of Ken Harakuma for the Tokyo Yogafesta in 2006, Dana developed the Song of One class. For people who are looking to be more at one with their voice, or for those who simply want to have fun singing, the Song of One is a natural synthesis of Dana's yoga practice over the years and the experience gained from a life in music.
Song of One uses yogic techniques and techniques from the Italian Bel Canto, and African American music traditions. Students will be instructed in exercises designed to free the voice and body, extend the vocal range and increase breath control and awareness. This class seeks to help the student get out of his/her own way in order to express their own unique voice and to experience the joy of joining their voices collectively while maintaining their own individual expression.
Classes will held at Yogafesta 2008 in September.
